Our Founder

Meet Lucky Mathebula

Dr Lucky Mathebula is a public policy analyst, strategist, and the Founder and Chairperson of the Governing Board of the Thinc Foundation, a non-profit company. He holds a Doctor of Administration with a specialisation in intergovernmental relations from the University of Pretoria.

He has served as a strategic adviser and speechwriter to senior political leaders and has contributed to policy development, governance, and national dialogue across South Africa. His work spans academia, government, and industry, with a focus on translating complex socio-economic challenges into practical, long-term solutions.

His thinking is grounded in political economy and systems thinking, enabling him to diagnose structural challenges and design interventions that are both credible and implementable.

We provide public policy advisory, policy influence and lobbying, development communication, and facilitate seminars, conferences, public lectures and roundtables that translate insight into outcomes.

The Thinc Conversations

The Thinc Conversations is a 24-minute TV series convening executives, academics, and thoughts leaders around the issues shaping South Africa. Hosted by Dr Lucky Mathebula, the series examines themes such as national capability, food sovereignty, heritage, strategic relations and other pressing questions influencing society and development.
